Abstract

The application of porous concrete, as described in ACI 522R-10, has been the subject of research by various researchers. Porous concrete, known for its air permeability and high quality, can be used as a sustainable construction material. Likewise, in each region, there are still natural resources such as natural aggregates that have not been researched and can be used as construction materials, especially porous concrete. This study aims to identify the value of fresh concrete, the properties of porous concrete, and the relationship between porous concrete properties based on the constituent materials from the Maulu River in Tana Toraja Regency. In this study, the mixture design applied is ACI 522R-10. Bleeding and weight volume examinations are carried out on fresh concrete conditions. Porous concrete characteristics such as pore volume, permeability, and compressive strength are examined when the concrete is in a hardened condition. The fresh concrete used in this study did not experience bleeding and its average volume weight was 1891.157 kg/m3, with an average pore volume of 18.453%, an average permeability of 5.964 mm/second, and an average compressive strength at the ages of 7, 14, and 28 days was 6.04 MPa, 7.30 MPa, and 8.32 MPa. Based on the qualified characteristics, coarse aggregate from the Maulu River can be recommended as a material for forming porous concrete.
