Abstract

ABSTRAK

Hemoglobin  (Hb)  adalah protein yang banyak mengandung zat Fe atau besi. Faktor yang berperan dalam memengaruhi kadar hemoglobin di antaranya adalah status gizi dan asupan protein. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Hubungan Status Gizi dan Asupan Protein dengan Kadar Hemoglobin Calon Pendonor di UDD PMI Aceh Utara. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional. Seluruh calon pendonor yang berjumlah 97 responden merupakan populasi. Hasil penelitian, responden paling banyak memiliki kadar hemoglobin normal dengan jumlah 88 orang (90,7%), responden paling banyak memiliki status gizi gemuk berat dengan jumlah 41 orang (42,3%), dan responden paling banyak memiliki asupan protein cukup dengan jumlah 80 orang (82,5%). Uji analisis statistik chi square dalam menentukan hubungan antara status gizi dengan kadar hemoglobin mendapatkan nilai p>0,05, dan hubungan antara asupan protein dengan kadar hemoglobin mendapatkan nilai p <0,05. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini tidak terdapat hubungan antara status gizi dengan kadar hemoglobin dan terdapat hubungan antara asupan protein dengan kadar hemoglobin pada calon pendonor di UDD PMI Aceh Utara.

ABSTRACT

Hemoglobin is an iron-rich protein. Nutritional status and protein intake are two variables that influence hemoglobin levels. The purpose of this research was to see if there was a relationship between potential donors' nutritional status and protein intake and their hemoglobin levels at BDU IRC Aceh Utara. A cross-sectional approach was used in this study. The population in this study was all potential donors, totaling 97 respondents. The study's findings revealed that the majority of respondents had normal hemoglobin levels (88 people, or 90.7%), the majority of respondents had nutritional status with severe obesity (41 people, or 42.3%), and the majority of respondents had sufficient protein intake (80 people, or 82.5%). The chi square statistical test yielded a value of p> 0.05 in determining the relationship between nutritional status and hemoglobin levels, and a value of p< 0.05 in determining the relationship between protein intake and hemoglobin levels. The study concluded that there is no relationship between nutritional status and hemoglobin levels in potential donors at BDU IRC Aceh Utara, however there is a relationship between protein intake and hemoglobin levels.
